Schneider Electric
A beautiful courtyard featuring living walls, stylish benches, and a charming vintage post-box.
We transformed Schneider Electric’s ordinary office courtyard into a space where people can truly relax, connect, and recharge. The goal was simple: to create an environment that felt as welcoming as it was refreshing – a place where nature and design work together to improve well-being.
The makeover introduced stunning greenery in sleek Corten steel planters, adding a modern touch while making the space feel alive. Vertical living walls soften the side of the building, bringing in fresh air and vibrancy. In the centre, a multi-stem birch tree stands tall, symbolising resilience and growth.
We wanted to encourage employees to take a moment for themselves, whether it was unwinding after a long day or catching up with a colleague. A handcrafted cedar bar table became the perfect spot for casual conversations, while a vintage red phone booth (which has been turned into a charming bookshelf) invites employees to pick up a book and take a mental break.
To heighten the sense of calm, a gentle water feature is nestled within the planters, filling the air with soft bubbling sounds complemented by the scent of lavender and grasses. Wooden benches provide simple, inviting seating, and a custom timber bench near the water and living wall offer the perfect place to stretch out in the sun.
LED strip lights under the benches and a warm spike light keep the courtyard glowing, making it just as inviting in the evenings. The result isn’t just a beautiful space – it is now a place where people can breathe a little deeper, think a little clearer, and feel a stronger connection to nature every day.
